Stanhope Simpson is an independent and privately owned Atlantic Canadian family business similar to many of our long-standing, highly valued commercial clients.

Our mission is to provide our clients with superior insurance, surety bonding and risk management services, and to do so at the highest level of customer service so they may focus on cultivating their businesses and enjoying their families while feeling protected and well taken care of.

With 70 years of history and a strong reputation in the Maritimes, we invite you to join our team and become a part of our exciting future.

Where We Are:  3845 Joseph Howe Drive, Suite 300, Halifax, NS

Who We Are:  A general insurance brokerage providing exceptional commercial insurance, surety bonding and personal insurance solutions to businesses and individuals throughout Atlantic Canada.  We stand out from other brokerages in our region because we are an independent and family owned company; we are not owned or controlled by an insurance company or larger corporation.  In fact, we have successfully transitioned our business to a very capable and proven second generation who are actively growing our company.  Our management team is comprised of both men and women including an MBA and a CPA, CA.

Position:  Personal Insurance Broker (Permanent, Full-Time)

We are looking for a highly dependable and personable individual to fill the role of Personal Insurance Broker in our firm’s boutique-style personal lines department.  This is a permanent, full-time position that is available immediately.

We are seeking a self-motivated personal insurance professional who takes initiative.  Diligence and organizational skills are imperative.  Applicants should consider themselves to have exceptional interpersonal skills.  We are looking for a client-focused individual with the ability to foster and build positive professional relationships with colleagues and clients.  A successful candidate is adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic office environment.

The Personal Insurance Broker role requires both individual and team work.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a broad portfolio of personal insurance accounts under the leadership of our Personal Lines Manager, Scott Conrad.

  • At Stanhope Simpson, you are not just an employee number; you are part of an extended family whose culture is as tight-knit as it gets – simply put, every member of our team has each other’s back.
  • Our brokers are empowered to go above and beyond for our clients – we don’t micromanage or use highly metrics-driven performance management.

  • Direct communication with personal lines clients including the provision of professional and practical insurance advice.
